What is the dimension and weight of the fridge

The bar fridges are about 50cm x 50cm x 50cm and weighs between 15kg - 18kg

What type of fridge will I be getting after my order?

By default you will be getting a mini bar fridge 50 x 50 x 50 with a freezer compartment. However, upon special request by emailing us directly, you can request for a chiller which does not have a freezer compartment but operates quieter. Do note that chillers are limited and Rent-a-Fridge cannot guarantee that we will be able to cater to all requestes.

What if I did not make a complete payment?

An administrative charge of $10 will be levied on all incomplete payments.

How does the delivery process work?

  1. After ordering the fridges, a bill will be sent to you via email.

  2. After payment have been received, an email confirmation will be sent to you.

  3. Students who have ordered the fridges can go down to the designated location on the designated date to pick up the fridge

  4. Please bring down your IC for identification.

  5. Sign a collection form and take the fridge back to hall.

  6. Important!!! Leave the fridge stationary for 4hrs before switching it on.

What are porterage fees?

Porterage fees are fees we collect for delivery of fridge into your room. They are as follows:
 

  1. $10 Service fee to deliver item into your room

  2. $7 per level for halls that have no lifts (capped at 5 levels)

  3. $20 penalty for no show.

 

A bill will be sent at the end of the service and will be payable via bank transfers/Paypal (Cash payment will not be accepted)

How much does Paypal collect from me if I choose to collect my deposit through Paypal?

We generally prefer to return your deposits through bank transfers as Paypal charges approximately 4% - 5% of the transaction amount to receiving users. This should amount to about $4 - $5 for the return of your Deposit. Unfortunately, Rent-A-Fridge (Singapore) will not bear the transaction fees if users choose to get their deposits back via Paypal.

What if I missed my delivery/return date?

A penalty of $20 will be charged for the manpower, time and petrol incurred for the rescheduling of a delivery/return date.

What should I do after receiving the fridge?

After receiving the fridge, allow the fridge to rest for 4 hours before turning it on. This is to allow the coolant within the fridge to settle down and operate smoothly.

How do I take care of the fridge?

  1. Put the fridge in a flat place

  2. Put the switch to 3 or 4 (for midea), and the middle for other fridges. This will cater to the most optimum temperature in the Fridge.

  3. Do not switch on the fridge for 4hrs after you receive / move it.

  4. Do not over load the fridge. Fridge may not be cool if too much food is stored at one time.

  5. Do not switch on the fridge to its maximum unless absolutely necessary.

  6. Do not forcefully poke or cut away ice formed on the freezer compartment. Allow excess ice to melt naturally.

  7. Do not leave the fridge doors open while in operation.

  8. Do not put flammable items into the fridge.

  9. Do not Flush the fridge with water

  10. Do not put glass bottles in the freezer as they may crack or explode

  11. Switch off the fridge immediately if you smell gasoline or burning.

  12. All food must be tightly sealed when placed in the fridge to avoid making the fridge odourous.

What should I do if my fridge breaks down?

If the fridge stops working or requires maintenance during the rental period, drop us an email or text and we will send a personel down to check on it. Please do not attempt to repair it yourself. Any damage suffered by the fridge that is not within its ordinary used may be charged to your account.

Can I move my fridge if I change room?

Yes you may do so in your own time. However, we would require you to drop us an email to inform us of the change in address. If you require assistance, you may also drop us an email and we will send someone down to help you. Do note that a charge for manpower applies.

How do I know when to return my fridge?

An email will be sent to you 1 month before the scheduled return date to inform you of the available dates for collection. We strongly recommend that you try to meet the list of dates given as a fee of $10 will be charged for collection that is outside the given dates.

What do I have to do before returning the fridge?

1. Turn it off and let it defrost overnight.

2. Wipe it clean and ensure that there are no stains or food smell in it.

3. Make sure all original parts are present.

4. Remove all stickers that are not from Rent-a-Fridge

How do I remove the stickers from the fridge?

Use a hairdrying to melt the sticker and it should come off easily in 1-2mins.

What are the list of penalties charged by Rent-a-Fridge (Singapore)

1. Replacement cost of entire minibar fridge (Midea, Kuche and similar): $200

2. Replacement cost of parts: ( Ice Cube Tray - $10, Egg Tray - $10, Shelf - $15)

3. Broken Compartments (Flaps and Plugs): $15

4. Stickers Removal Fee (for non Rent-a-Fridge Stickers): $2

5. Fridge Cleaning service for dirty fridges: $20

6. Late returns: $2/day for a maximum of 30 days. (After which, the item will be considered lost/sold and the deposit will be forfeited)

What is the difference between RAF.sg and rentafridgesg.com

Rentafridgesg.com is our current website for rentals in the upcoming semester. Raf.sg is still under maintenance and is slated for launch in the next academic year
